Enjoy Your Watershed with this hike at El Corte De Madera Creek Open Space Preserve! Take a break from the summer valley heat and make your way to the redwood trees that are often covered in cool fog when the Bay Area is sweltering. Join docents Paul Billig and Judy Fenerty to explore the woodlands in this popular Preserve. The hike will cover 8 to 10 miles and include over 1,000 feet of elevation gain. The hike duration may change if the fog or cool temperature is absent. Where to meet: For this activity at El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve, meet at Skeggs Point, a Caltrans vista point on the east side of Skyline Boulevard, about 4 miles north of La Honda Road (Highway 84) and 1.5 miles south of Kings Mountain Road. Please note that Caltrans prohibits a left turn into the lot when approaching from the north along Skyline Blvd. Sponsored By: MidPeninsula Regional Open Space District: http://www.openspace.org/ About El Corte De Madera Creek: http://www.openspace.org/preserves/pr_ecdm.asp |
