community action grants renews newsletter dirty words zun zun coastal cleanup events

SMCWPPP is committed to educating residents of San Mateo County and providing partnership opportunities to further the resources and reach of the pollution prevention message. Our most recent advertising campaign, dirty words, calls out pollutants that can effect our water. Another recent campaign, Our Watershed, was seen and heard throughout the Bay area. We strive to educate the public about the causes of stormwater pollution and its serious effects on the quality of local creeks, lagoons, shorelines and neighborhoods.

The goal of the campaigns and outreach materials is to make the connection between their actions and their effect on the environment and ecourage them to adopt less pollution and more environmentally beneficial practices. We also encourage citizens to get involved with local watershed protection and education by applying for and implementing community action grants.

We also have a free assembly program available to educate elementary age children at schools and other venues.
