New Year’s Day Planting Event

January 1

Start the year with a shovel and help install native plant species along the Pillar Point Bluffs on Monday, January 1.

We will be walking about a mile along a well-maintained trail, including a short, steep uphill section, to the worksite. The work involves bending and kneeling.

Tools, gloves and direction will be provided.

We recommend that you wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. Sunscreen, snacks, hats, and layers are also great to have on hand in case the weather gets warm or cold. We will be in the open and exposed to the weather. Hazardous conditions, including heavy rain and wind, will cause this event to be canceled and we will reach out to participants by email.

A reminder email with more detailed instructions on the day’s activities and where to meet will also be sent in advance of the event. We look forward to seeing you in the parks!

Please direct questions and comments for this event to Stu Smith at sgsmith@smcgov.org.
