San Pedro Valley Habitat Restoration Volunteer Event

April 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

On April 6 we will be working to remove invasive Forget-Me-Not plants in the park. The plant is easy to identify and comes out by hand or with small hand tools. The task is family friendly, though we will be walking along the trails, which can be uneven and muddy.

San Pedro Valley is a beautiful, 1,052 acre park tucked away within the Santa Cruz mountain range and the foothills of Pacifica. In the springtime, the park’s meadows fill with wildflowers like California Poppies, Suncups, and Buttercups.

We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty for your protection and comfort. Sunscreen, snacks, hats, and layers are also great to have on hand in case the weather gets warm or cold! If weather conditions are deemed too extreme, this event may be canceled and we will reach out to participants by email.

If signing up as a family or a group, please adjust the number of volunteer sign-ups according to the number of volunteers in your party when filling out your registration form. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. Youth under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

A reminder email with more detailed instructions on the day’s activities and where to meet will also be sent in advance of the event. We look forward to seeing you in the parks!

Please direct questions and comments for this event to Stu Smith at sgsmith@smcgov.org.
